Mike Edwards, Director, President & CEO
Mike is a life-long entrepreneur - for the past 20 years, he has started and invested in technology companies. Prior to taking the lead at LX Ventures, he headed up Growlab, a Vancouver-based technology accelerator, co-founded Initio Group andAreaConnect, a localized search directory, which sold to Marchex in 2006 and provided a significant return to its shareholders.
Over the last few years Mike has invested in more than 35 technology start-ups, including Punch'd, which sold to Google in July, 2011, Artsicle, Summify, which sold to Twitter in January, 2012, Hoseanna, LaunchRock and Rewardli, as well as Dave McClure's 500 Startups venture capital fund.

Derek Lew, Independent Director
Derek is a Partner with Initio Group, a Vancouver, BC-based early-stage angel investment firm, and a lawyer experienced in the areas of corporate, commercial, and real estate law.
Active in his community, he is a Director of the Frank and Joan Lew Charitable Trust and the FJL Housing Society, which focuses on matters related to social housing in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. He is also an active member of the technology startup community in Vancouver.
Professionally, Derek is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia. Derek holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta.

Brady Fletcher, Independent Director
Brady started his investment-banking career with Canaccord Genuity then moving to Byron Capital Markets. In 2012, he launched Sea to Sky Equities, an independent advisory practice. Now a director with Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, he's responsible for the development of strategic relationships and advising the fund's portfolio on execution of different financing strategies.

Alison Lawton, Advisor
Ms. Lawton is a Canadian business executive and social venture philanthropist who has championed high-level advocacy initiatives for global humanitarian issues. Lawton began her business career in private equity sales in the areas of syndicated software, film, television, real estate and tax shelter offerings, and was also one of three founding partners of ideaPARK, a leading technology business incubator that was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Lawton currently sits on the advisory council for Sir Richard Branson's foundation, Virgin Unite Canada and the BC Partners for Social Impact. She is former Co-Chair of an action network of the Clinton Global Initiative, focused on the DRC and former Chair of the "Unite for Children Unite against AIDS" campaign for UNICEF Canada, receiving their Champion for Children Award in 2006. Sheldon Inwentash, Advisor
As Founder, Chairman and CEO of Pinetree Capital, Sheldon Inwentash is responsible for creating the overall strategic vision and setting the direction for Pinetree.
